- (04/01/2024) We are going to start sewing on the 12x12 slant-wall tents about April 12th.
- (03/19/2024) We are currently swamped by emails from customers due to Panther closing. It is taking about a day to get an answer so please be patient! We are gearing up to make a lot of tents here, but keep in mind that we are pretty busy for the next month or so. The wood shop is still shut down due to not having the people available to make poles, but I hope to have single poles available by May for center poles etc. (setup kits are probably not going to be available until July).
- (03/16/2024) Shipping is still keeping up, as tents from stock are going out in about 24-48 hours max.
- (03/10/2024) Right now it is very expensive to make a tent, due to the cost of buying and shipping in the canvas, and paying skilled employees to sew them correctly. The costs are basically 1.5 to 1.6 times as much to make a tent than 2 years ago. Most of the tents we have in stock were make more that 5 months ago, when costs were a bit lower, but now we find we are going to have to raise prices on newly sewn tents, or take a loss (which would not be a good business model!). You might have noticed that Panther and a few others are going to either go out of the tent business, or raise prices and cut way back on quantities. The problem as it hits us, is that we make tents in bulk to save costs, so making large quantities to have them just sitting there unsold is a pretty bad hit. To make smaller batches, means we have to raise prices, which would certainly hurt sales.
- If you want a good deal on a tent, it is better to get one now out of our inventory, rather than to wait for us to make more. The 2 color tents are probably going to be pretty rare in the future, except for sunshades. We are going to stop making the sewn grommets on most tents and sunshades also, except for the peak grommets of course. We will be offering Sunbrella canvas on sunshades as an option, and a "Dragonwing" style sunshade in the future.
- I have tried to keep the prices down, but inflation overseas is just really bad, coupled with cotton shortages due to climate change is making it really difficult. It doesn't help that my wife and I are getting ancient in age!

Merchant Slantwall sunshade squares with 4 liftable sides in 10x10 and 12x12:
This version of the slant wall has no awning or window, but all 4 sides can lift up. The corners lace together with rope through grommets so you can have 1,2,3, or 4 walls that lift or just leave one edge unlaced for a door. It makes a pretty good sunshade too! I have BOTH 10x10 and 12x12 base ones in stock.

UPS SHIPPING RATES WENT UP IN JANUARY (yea, not a shock) It looks like about 3% for nearby to 8% for locations far from Iowa. We still charge less than most sellers, so it shouldn't be too bad.
